Association of Virtual Worlds

The Business & Social Network

I have deleted second Life from my Mac. I had no problem with Second Life itself, unfortunately some of the avatars where clearly aimed at sexual attraction with enlarged physical features.

The problem for me was that my two youngest 8 and 10 had access to my account and I was a little uncomfortable with some of the images they were seeing while I was looking over their shoulder.

As I say no criticism of Second Life itself just some of the users.

Well, Second Life is for adults only. 8 and 10 year-olds should never have access to it in the first place. If you are looking for a safe and fun virtual place for your children, I'd suggest Disney's Toontown or Club Penguin.

Try telling children that!

Well, to be honest, my 18 year-old son and I can't wait until next year when Lego opens up Universe! There's plenty of fun to be had all over without subjecting them to a grown-up grid.
