Thank you for your interest in placing a plaque or monument at Remembering Our Friends Memorial.

Since the inception of Remembering Our Friends Memorial, personalized memorial plaques have been available to all residents of Second Life®. Freestanding custom built monuments are also available.

Plaque Information

We provide space in our Chapel and Annex Wings for plaques for loved ones that were SL residents as well as those who never were residents. Plaques are created with no cost obligation to the requester.

If you'd like to request a plaque, please send us a note card with the person's name and a few lines of tribute to Carlo Dufaux or Mike Burleigh. Pictures may be added, send the texture full perm (mod, copy, transfer). We will create the plaque textures. We reserve the right to alter or reject any aspects that are inappropriate or not fitting into the SIM's theme. Feel free to walk through our memorial and view the existing memorials for ideas.

Monuments

Custom made freestanding memorials and monuments are available. The cost is determined by the size, prims, complexity and amount of work involved. Generally they run between $L 7,000 and up for a monument with less that about 10 prims and standard artwork/textures. Additional prims, custom artwork and sculpty objects will be estimated accordingly. We will create the monument objects and textures. We reserve the right to alter any aspects of provided pictures/textures that are inappropriate or not fitting into the SIM's theme.

The cost covers creation and placement of the monument object and design of the textures, the use of basic prims and land it rests on.

Items such as flowers, mementos, wreaths and candles may be left at monuments for a few days after they are placed. Like in the real world, flowers fade and candles go out. (and the prim count rises)

If you need a monument, please send us a note card with a short description of your ideas. We will contact you ASAP to discuss your project.

All plaques and monuments feature an oil lamp, that can be lighted in memory of your loved one for a nominal fee.

A chapel is available for memorial gatherings. When needed please give us adequate notice so we may scheduled the date and time.

Remembering Our Friends Memorial is funded through your donations. We do not profit from this revenue. Any excess funding is used for expansion, upkeep and the causes we support.
