Hello OpenSim & Second Life nerds!
Meet the Boe-Bot!
For a little more power than Lego Mindstorms try this
http://www.parallax.com/tabid/411/Default.aspx it uses the venerable BASIC Stamp kit which is the ".NET Framework" or Swiss Army Knife of small DAQ (Data Aquisition & Control) efforts.
With this kit and Microsoft Robotics Studio and a copy of OpenSim or a Second Life account you can script up some communications using LLHTTPrequest and XMLRPC to talk with Robotics Studio directly or via a Database or XML file etc. I will have more details in future posts. This is how you can control a robot in the real world from a virtual world and vice versa. The robot can be a light sensor, electronic switch, alarm signal, weather station, GPS vehicle and more.

It works off Bluetooth and is the foundation for a simple yet powerful little robot. It also has samples for Robotics Studio but is often out of stock.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/robotics/aa731520.aspx to get the 100% free Microsoft Robotics Studio. G2 will be realeasing all our code currently being developed in ReactionLab
www.reactiongrid.com for use by anyone once it is stable and tested.
For those wanting to ease into robotics http://mindstorms.lego.com/Overview/NXTreme.aspx is a great start and really not a toy.
