Huntable Yerik Grazing on Blue Moon Pandoran RP Region

I showed you this picture of a yerik Kayaker Magic created, but what I am about to show you now will astound you.  Everyone knows the importance of Yerik in the Na'vi diet and to us at Blue Moon Pandoran RP Region we wanted to bring the most “lifelike” yerik we possibly could.  For it to be huntable yerik other animations were added for a realistic experience.

Kayaker sent the link to his latest video. “Yerik wanders, browses on your Pandoran themed Second Life Property”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRyEG0u98V8&feature=colike

Please know that when hunting Yerik it is customary for all Na'vi to chant this Prayer:

Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi

ireiyo. Ngari hu Eywa saleu tirea, tokx 'ì'awn

slu Na'viyä hapxì.

I see you Brother, Thank you. As your journey ends,

your spirit will return to Eywa,

but your body will remain here with the people.

This critter looks like a “Yerik”, the deer-like creature from the movie “Avatar”. Like most creatures on the planet Pandora it has 6 legs. These legs move in a co-ordinated way as the Yerik wanders around your parcel. By default this Yerik will move in a random walk, dropping its head to browse and turning its head around to look for predators. It climbs like a mountain goat on steep terrain. It will raise its fringe to display a pair of  “false eyes” if it thinks there is a threat nearby. Hanging back from its head are two “queues”, the organs that are used for direct neural communication by animals and plants on the planet Pandora. These flexible organs whip around as the Yerik turns its head. You can click on the Yerik to bring up a dialog to put it in Browse, Migrate (it will walk in a straight line) or Pose mode. In the latter mode it will stand still and let you change the head position, leg position and fringe (false eyes) display. From the dialog you can have the Yerik 'die' (for RP hunting). When the Yerik dies, it falls over, bleeds, thrashes its head and neck around for a few seconds. (You can revive the 'dead' Yerik with the dialog).

The Yerik has several modes to control where it is allowed to walk. It will stay inside your parcel, turning away from the edges and turning away from the water's edge. If you allow, it can cross over into other parcels that you own, into parcels owned by other people in your group, or any parcel on your sim that has “friendly” permissions. It will also work next to your SkyBox if you have a flat “land” prim to rez it on.

The Yerik is a non-physical object so it is very low lag. It is made out of 13 prims. 6 legs, body, head, two queues, fringe and two hearts. (The hearts are used to pre-load all the sculpts to make the leg and head animations load with no delay). This is a COPYable critter so you can rez a heard of them for one low price.

Visit the Ocean Engineering to see a heard of Yerik walking around. To buy your own, or for more autonomous creatures that exhibit complex behavior, go straight to the Ocean Engineering Store in Panathalassa, Virtual Highway grid, http://www.virtualhighway.us/
