By adding the grid mode details to my updated opensim build with OGP module enabled i have now successfully connected an AUGrid region to Linden's Beta Grid ::)
This is a great step toward intra grid interop.

DNS is still catching up but the grid servers are on new hardware and faster network. This should help load balance more and reduce any latency when using the grid servers. The edu area is also now on this server as well as parkland and openspace which should result on lower latency in these sims also.
If you still cannot see the login page or web page, try flushing your dns and try again. the correct grid server ip is 66.197.247.214.

So i am here in my office, with a new grid server being deployed.
i copied the grid and some region db's to the new server.
i ran up the setup on new server i.e. grid servers and 2 sims on one region server, basically the augrid servers plus norgan plaza and 2ndrez.
I set up the new ip's and login uri, tested everything came up ok.
Now at this point i would have been happy to have the client login to new server and be able to tp and fly around the…

EnGeneIC is researching novel cancer treatments and sponsor AUGrid in that they allow my time to be spent on running the grid and they are hosting the Medical Plaza. In the coming weeks i will be adding more about thier efforts as well as some info about other medical causes such as Autism that AUGrid will be supporting.

Thanks to the hard working devs we have pinpointed and corrected the inventory problem that has been haunting AUGrid for a while now.
The problem was that the sessionid was being left in the previous region so when you tried to log back in you had the old session id still there with the grid asking for your new session id, that got rejected stopping it from deliverying your inventory.
This has now been confirmed to be resolved so if you had visited and your inventory was…

As you should all be aware by now, AUGrid goals are to support charitable causes and use donations and profits from region sales to grow the grid and allow more space and donation of regions to these causes.
To do this i created a paypal account with the contact details of AUGrid as an online charitable company, which in NSW at least does not need to be registered as a legal entity. This saves us money on paying for red tape.
Paypal in their infinite wisdom have decided to…

due to a transformer failure in NYC there has been a fairly major network outage meaning that the grid servers behind that network are offline.
Teh replacement is on its way and hopefully back online very soon.
on a brighter note the content inside is looking amazing, if you haven;t visited lately it;s worth a revisit with a brand new plaza and rez point as well as a full brisbane sim and triple x industries, an industrial/traditional aussie style sim. add to this the new…

Today i successfully created an opensim grid that is accessible on the linden opengrid (Beta grid).
Nest step to create clone of augrid and try a region connected to grid services and available through ogp.
the setup is quite straight forward compared to grid setup but next step will required a patch build to enable my linux box to run it.

AUGrid has had some downtime of late due to my best efforts of reconfiguring databases to allow for better performance, i;m proud to say that phase 2 of this is complete and has greatly improved general grid performance.
Come on by and check it out :) also don;t miss the phase 2 map layout, with the central regions being shaped as one big Australian continent surrounded by beautiful waterways.
New pictures have been added showing these waterways and map.

Ok so the gammer isn't perfect but i'm excited. lol
After a few hours of reconfiguring AUGrid to have separate databases for each region server and some mysql tweaks, the grid is now performing better then ever.
An import of a 256 prim car the previously was causing db lockups it now not only works well but rezzing prims while doing so is well can only be described as lighting fast.
I am now confident that the grid is ready for whatever influx may happen, and…

in the process of setting up some monitoring servers i noticed that my ns0 DNS server was showing offline. As i direct result of seeing the virtual server offline i identified that i had an old DNS entry in the whois record and i was able to correct it, i will know when the change has propagated when the server in the datacenter shows online :)
I had visions of this datacenter offering real monitoring solutions and it has actually help me!! I am also working on more in depth stats…

A major fix has been added to the OpenSim server code, Trunk r5592 which AUGrid and OSgrid are now running requires that you have your regions up to this revision to allow secure inventory transactions. This instills futher faith in the software by ensuring your objects cannot be deleted or modified even when they have your UUID.
There is an option to disable by setting "secure_inventory_server = false" under [Network] in your OpenSim.ini.

Ok this thing is growing faster than i can deploy it, if your a bit of a build-a-holic and would like to be involved with the project please contact me, i'd be glad for the extra help to build up plaza area's. I am also looking for scripters to help develop and evolve inworld and bridging technologies.
My idea's outweigh my physical time lol i'd love to see this project grow as a community with community input as to what needs to be there and what it is you desire out of a grid and…

The Augrid datacenter monitors servers for augrid and norgan networks, it can monitor all services that run on an IP port. Mysql, sims, web servers. it can monitor either windows or linux boxes even mac's.
I have added some pictures showing the first 2 racks full and the rack space in there now. the center is new and still being built but is technically capable now.
Look for some great new showcase technologies to showcase Opensims capabilities. :)
