Sorry Miriam I posted my last message to your page: http://associationofvirtualworlds.ning.com/profile/miriam
Instead of mine because I did not think it had to follow on from here, your drawings are a subject in their own right.
Whatever NURBS Modeller you use, most of the artistic work should revolve around dragging control points.
However I have never used Blender enough to know how easy it is to model with or its capabilities in regard to modelling for real time animation.
It would be interesting to convert my NURBS tutorials to blender to serve as both a translation and a comparison of the two programs for NURBS modelling.
Seamless3d can not run on Linux yet Sorry but because seamless's design is platform independent and it is open source software, when I write an OpenGL version it should be easy for it to be ported to any operating system that can run OpenGL or Mesa 3D.
thanks for the compliment thyme. :)
The threading on this system is really weird and counterintuitive...
Love the new NURBS feature on Seamless3d. Unfortunately I've moved over to Linux from MSWindows so I don't have any real way to use it anymore. :(
Wow thyme! It always amazes me the stuff you manage to do. Great idea using nurbs for working on sounds.
Sounds are a part of VR that is often neglected.
Thanks Dave, Miriam, Edita, MixED and Chris for welcoming me here :) AVW looks like a lively place!
Thanks Chris for asking how Seamless3d's development is going :)
I am rather late in being enlightened to just how great NURBS are but I have been making up for it since late last year, after realising how well they fit in with Seamless3d's design:
All the basic shapes can now be converted to NURBS and I have written a number of tutorials as well as a robot demo to show how to make an animated seamless low poly av using NURBS patches:
I have even been playing with NURBS to synthesize sounds:
Same as the 3d modelling software, the server is free and open source and there are no fees for the artist to upload their content. Most should be able to serve their own multi-user worlds with it by running it from their computer.
What Can the AVW Do For You?
Please send your thoughts and ideas directly to either Dave or Edita.

More recently I have been working on Seamless3d's chat server which I started back in 2002.
