I would be interested in sharing ideas with virtual technology pros who have experience in 3d person scanning techniques for various ventures both commercial, private and govt business related. Especially in regards to teaming up with hardware and software manufacturers and distributors to create a potential product standard and distribution team.

Nicholas thanks for mentioning the importance of comparing Communication vs Interaction. I agree that this can be the biggest challenge in any forum. I see alot of great virtual developers here and also alot of great business pros. The more communications barriers removed the better. I have alot of ideas to share with developers of communications apps for second life etc... My biggest strength is in creating a buzz to bring real businesses onboard to share their needs and strengths in creating significant revenue streams for all based on mutual efforts and performance measurements. In the past I turned one phone call into a downline of 40,000 sales agents to promote my companies service. By asking them one simple question..... I may tell you what it was someday...... (0: It is amazing how a worldwide financial superpower co and little ole me...formed a multi million dollar partnership with some dry humor and a few lighthearted conversations.
My other strength is in using information mapping and behavioral/learning models to interface with technology. I may not be a programming guru but have partnered with many to grow businesses. My passion is to streamline, automate and at the same time grow enormous revenue streams from bringing large channel streams into focus with common goals.
Not to be repetitive but Nicholas thanks for reinforcing the importance of opening communications channels.
I look forward to sharing with each of you.
Have a great fourth all!

I think there will be a 3D www in future, because the 3D www can take us really convenient, help us do more work or other things on the net. And we can save the time to do some more things.

I agree with Attila Beke but with qualifiers: I doubt we'll have a 3D WWW in the next 10 years, however, just like text-based RPG games went to 2D graphics and then to 3D graphics, the 2D WWW will eventually evolve to 3D. We can't predict accurately how computer displays will evolve over time but...my money is on 3D displays one day in the not-too-far future. Our kids will probably have a WWW that is analogous to those 3D Desktop programs available now. A user will click a "link" and then "teleport" to a 3D environment that will probably have that site's content arranged conveniently in a semi-circular arrangement as say, hovering 3D signs that direct users to other areas of the 3D environment. But like I said, it's probably not going to be soon...more like 10 to 15 years before 3D WWW becomes the norm.

"The 3D Internet is the Future"

I don't think so. People are looking at the web to get information very quick. If they have to walk around in a 3D Virtual World to find the needed information, they could just walk outdoor in the reality.

3D web will not come. There were already enough experiences not only as a virtual world, but also as simple 3D applications. That confuse the users. Getting information must stay simple and quick. That's why video phone doesn't get popular, but sms do.

The only thing, where 3D Virtual Worlds have a chance is relaxing and gaming. In my opinion future's virtual worlds must mix the experience of Second Life and World of Warcraft.

There is a huge need for Virtual Realities in different settings (fantasy, Sci-Fi, Real), but they must have only relaxing purposes, not replacing the WWW as we know it now.

CTO needed

Ikatoo is an early stage start-up company specialising in innovative advertising solutions for virtual worlds. We are seeking a highly skilled programmer to serve as our CTO. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the earliest stages of an exciting Interactive Digital Media company with huge potential and work in a senior management position from the beginning.

We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful candidate who can take a leadership role from the get go. You will have the opportunity to make a major impact in the development of our company. Joining Ikatoo at this stage could allow you to make more money in five years than any other job.

Your role will be to design the overall infrastructure of our system. We do not require expertise in a specific language, but instead the ability to learn new languages and become an expert fast. We need someone who is really good at what they do.

Qualified candidates please send your resume to Juan Herrada - juan@ikatoo.com

I was glad to find this group. I've worked in the field of youth-focused virtual community for a decade, and now I'm working with BBC Worldwide to turn my fantasy book series into a transmedia property, with the MMO component playing a central role. I'm eager to learn from those of you on the bleeding edge.

What will the next-gen virtual world look like? What will it provide? Who will be the key players?
