Online Marketing Manager - Gaming / Social Networking / Virtual World
Title: Online Marketing Manager
Location: San Jose
Salary: 80-100K DOE + stock
A leading teen-oriented social networking website is rapidly growing and is seeking an Online Marketing Manager to join the marketing team and lead the company's customer acquisition, conversion and retention strategy/execution. This position reports to the Director of Marketing. Successful candidates are marketing professionals with a successful track record of strong online marketing and solid analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
* Create and manage all acquisition strategies through several channels. These may include online banner networks, affiliate programs, keyword campaigns, SEO strategies and internal communication plans
* Own metric tracking and strategic evaluation of marketing initiatives
* Collaborate with UI designers to drive improvements to the home page, landing pages, site registration and activation touch-points
* Increase and optimize all elements of customer acquisition
* Identify and execute on opportunities for new online/viral marketing efforts geared towards maximizing traffic and sales
* Provide cross-functional leadership with marketing, development, art and UI teams
* Own communication with internal clients and groups (e.g., Art, Development and Customer Service)
* Manage external relationships with partner agencies and others
Requirements:
* More than four years of experience in online consumer media and demonstrated success in online viral and acquisition marketing
* Hands-on experience managing campaigns across multiple online channel
* Solid analytical, quantitative, verbal and written communication skills
* A thorough understanding of user-site flow dynamics and of online marketing technologies and strategies
* A sharp sense of lifestyle trends, media savvy, pop-culture hit lists and brands
* Ambition, drive and marketing savvy
* Strong understanding of broader entertainment industry (games, music, movies, etc.)
* Avid MMO Player or interest in comic books / Manga will be a bonus
