We are working on a transmedia entertainment franchise. A "season" of animated shorts that are distributed via the internet based on an absurd spy genre comedy. Launching with the premiere of the shorts will be a virtual attraction that viewers will be directed to. The Clambake world will have locations from the shorts that users can interact with and explore. One of the goals we have is to bring newbies into a virtual world experience by making entry simple and providing them with something fun to engage in the moment they enter. This world will focus more on structured entertainment than the ability to create user generated content (although those features will be included.) We want to bring in people to experience and engage with content that is driven by the shorts. We have tons of ideas for games and activities that users can experience with each other or on their own.
Another primary goal is to engage in cross platform storytelling. Using all platforms accessible through the world we can have the underlying “mystery” story line increase in intensity and possibly be influenced by world users. Popular avatars in the world can make cameos or even be featured in episodes. The content will cross pollinate, new stories, new characters and situations will be created in the world

Need help setting up Summer Camp: Summer of Love 1967 through June. Visit www.summeroflove.wikispaces.com for info, and www.beachcollege.net/moodle1.8/ if you're serious. We're going to create San Francisco's Haight, the Fillmore, Monterey Pop Festival with students in July and August, and then open it up to the public. Teachers get paid, depending on getting paying students. Sim-wide project. Contact me, Birdie Newcomb, in Second Life.

I welcome you to visit my page if interested in starting a virtual recruiting business. I have posted some ideas for your review. It is great to be a member of a group of visionaries that can see the value of virtual technology!

We at the State of Missouri are using Second Life to recruit IT professionals. We are open to ideas of how to improve our site or other objects that we can place there that would help bring potential hires to the area.

Since nobody has described their projects yet, I'll be the first one. Me and a couple of other game development pros have started a side project where we are building a massively multiplayer game about Cyberpunk/Gibson-style netrunning. Our "virtual world" is the data infrastructure of a future city where different factions are competing for power. Being so few, we're very careful about the scope of our vision but if you know what you're doing, even 2D vectors and icons can be made to look nice. Like a very abstract but still very beautiful real-time strategy game. Since this is not our day job it will be slow going but I'll be dropping updates here every now and then. We are about to prototype the user interface and movement within the next two weeks.
